At the Newton College and Career Academy, we offer a variety of specialized courses for our students. Students who take advantage of our courses find themselves better prepared for further academic studies.

 

The Animal Science coursework is designed to provide technical and applied instruction in the biological, physical, technical and economic aspects of beef, horse, sheep and swine production. Animal Science is the biological science and management of domestic livestock, including  beef cattle, horses, sheep, swine and companion animals. Students learn the science, art and practical methods of caring for, improving and managing livestock and companion animals.

 

An agricultural background is not needed for your child to be comfortable in animal science. You’ll make friends, get to know your teachers, have fun and grow professionally.

 

As an Animal Science courses student, you may have the opportunity to compete for positions on the Livestock and Equine Judging teams and travel to participate in regional competitions.
